The exhibition "Romanian archaeological treasures - Dacian and Roman roots" was opened at the National Museum of Archeology in Madrid in which the National History Museum of Transylvania participates with no less than 54 artifacts from its heritage.
Visitors will be able to admire pieces of Dacian origin, including a curved sword (fake), from Sarmizegetusa Regia, the inventory of the goldsmith workshop from the Dacian settlement at Pecica, Roman clay and bronze vessels discovered at Micăsasa and Zlatna, Roman bronze and gilded bronze statuettes from the archaeological sites of Ulpia Traiana Sarmizegetusa and Ilișua, a bronze votive plaque from Gherla, a limestone relief from Gilău and, last but not least, pieces of silver and gilded silver from Valea lui Mihai, as well as the already famous hoard composed of gold pieces from "Polus" dating back to the early Middle Ages.
Organized by the National History Museum of Romania on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Romania and the Kingdom of Spain, the exhibition brings together pieces from 40 museums in our country.
