Between July 3-21 the systematic archaeological research campaign of the Domus procuratoris edifice (the residence and seat of the financial procurator of Dacia Superior/Apulensis) from Ulpia Traiana Sarmizegetusa will be carried out. The research team, coordinated by the scientific manager of the site, Dr. Felix Marcu, manager of the National History Museum of Transylvania, will carry out both archeology works, in which the latest generation methods and equipment will be used in topography, photography, photogrammetry, as well as non-invasive research (digital modeling of the terrain with the help of drones and geophysics – e.g. magnetometry, georadar).
Students of the Faculty of History and Philosophy who wish to undertake the internship within this project will therefore have the opportunity to learn to use truly revolutionary methods and state-of-the-art exploration equipment, thus developing essential skills for modern archaeology.
Accommodation, meals and good mood are provided.
