December 21 1989
It has been 35 years since the events of December 1989, a defining moment in our recent history. In those days, Romanians took to the streets to claim their freedom, some of them paying the ultimate price so that today we can enjoy fundamental rights, which we consider essential, such as free movement, freedom of speech or the right to free elections .
Five years ago, our museum marked this historic moment with an exhibition designed to recreate the emotion and intensity of December 21, when Cluj first took to the streets. Today, we invite you to remember those moments through a virtual tour of the exhibition, in which the voice of the actor Ionuț Caras will guide you.

The museum is a friend for seniors
MNIT concluded a partnership agreement with the Department of Social and Medical Assistance of Cluj-Napoca City Hall for the "Museum-a friend for seniors" project. Thus, the seniors of the Day Centers for the Elderly were invited to visit our exhibitions. We were happy to capture their delight. They spent pleasant time in a cultural space and learned interesting information about heritage objects from specialist museographers.
Thank you colleagues Dr. Mitu Melinda and dr. Eugenia Beu-Dachin for the guidance provided.
We also thank the management of DASM, Mr. Director Aurel Mocan, Mrs. Arianda Popa-head of the Elderly Assistance Service, Mrs. Jorgea Luminița-specialist inspector, Mrs. Mihaela Marcovici-coordinator of the Day Center for the Elderly no. 1 for collaboration and the senior group for visiting.
