UNION OF ROMANIAN PRINCIPALITIES – 165 years
January 24, 2024 marks the 165th anniversary of the Union of the Principalities, which was achieved in a first stage in the form of the double election of Alexandru Ioan Cuza as lord in Moldova, and then in Wallachia. This union was fully realized three years later through a political-administrative unification, through the creation of the Parliament and the single government (January 22, 1862).
The moment we celebrate on January 24 symbolizes the beginning of the formation of the modern Romanian state. Cuza is remembered for his significant contributions, including the land reform that saw more than 490.000 peasants become landowners.
We look forward to seeing you at the museum on January 24th to celebrate this historic day with free admission for all visitors! 🤗

THE PHARMACY MUSEUM
January 15, 2024, from 17:00 p.m
Dear lovers of history and cultural heritage,
With great joy, the National History Museum of Transylvania invites you to participate in a special event: the inauguration of the Pharmacy Museum, which will take place on Monday, January 15, 2024, from 17:00 p.m., in the heart of Cluj-Napoca.
The Pharmacy Museum, a treasure trove of medical and pharmaceutical history, reopens its doors after a period of renovation and expansion. This oasis of knowledge houses over 7000 objects authentic, which tell the story of the evolution of pharmacy and medicine in Transylvania. We will guide you through the galleries where you will be able to admire old medical equipment and precious artefacts, which reflect the attitude towards health and illness throughout the centuries. Our venue, the Hintz House, with unique 18th century pharmaceutical settings, is the ideal space to explore this fascinating segment of history. We will take you through the officina, the room where the products were sold, the material room, the laboratory and other spaces that recreate the atmosphere of a traditional pharmacy.
We look forward to welcoming you and celebrating together this important moment in the history of the museum and our city.
Respectfully,
The team of the National History Museum of Transylvania

SoNoRo
November 11, 11.30:XNUMX a.m., MNIT headquarters
On Saturday, we have a matinee concert at the museum.
For the third consecutive year, we are happy to host one of the concerts of the prestigious international chamber music festival SoNoRo. We started this friendship with the "SoNoRo Dreamtigers" edition, and last year the museum was "SoNoRo Orient Express station". This year, we invite you to an "On the Couch" edition. Not just any kind of "couch", because, being a museum, we will try to create a decoration from pieces authentic, appropriate to the period from which the repertoire is chosen. So, while you're listening to music, you'll also be treated to an exclusive mini-exhibition.
The recital at MNIT is called "Padre e Figlio" and focuses on two father-son relationships: Leopold and Wolfgang Mozart & Julius Leopold and Erich Wolfgang Korngold - from two different worlds and two centuries.
This program was also played on October 31, at the Romanian Athenaeum, as part of the SoNoRo Festival in Bucharest, and after the success there, we invite the Cluj audience to live this unique musical experience... at the museum.
